Jeremy Townley, President
Jeremy's tenure with Select Energy Services in began in 2009. He held numerous positions with Select from Construction Manager to the Division VP of WellOne, and many in between. Jeremy was chosen to serve as the President of Affirm Oilfield Services at its formation in May of 2014.
Prior to joining Select, Jeremy worked at Norris and Sons Construction in Soldotna, Alaska in 1992. A year later he joined the Army serving at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina until 1996. After serving in the Army, he returned to Alaska to work with highway construction until the end of the construction season in 1998. Jeremy then moved to Texas where he worked in sales until 2002. From there, he began his career in the oilfield construction industry, ultimately leading him the SES family of companies and Affirm Oilfield Services.
James Hatcher, Service Line Lead
James joined Select Energy Services in 2010 where he began as a Field Supervisor for Well Site Construction and went on to hold other jobs including Operations Manager and Project Manager before becoming the Service Line Lead for Wellsite Construction. James transitioned to Affirm Oilfield Services at its formation as the company’s Service Line Lead for all of its service lines. In his current role, James works with each region on various projects, financial reporting, job bids, cost control and rental & fuel cost tracking.
Prior to joining the Select and Affirm teams, James worked at Hammer Construction as a Field Supervisor and for JC Potter as a Sales Manager.
Sam Gandy, Controller
Sam joined the Affirm team as Controller in November 2018, where he manages the accounting team. Prior to Affirm, Sam worked as the CFO for Eagle Pressure Control where he oversaw the development of all back office functions while the business tripled in size, put professional controls in place and developing the HR, risk management and IT functions. Sam has held CFO and senior financial roles in several oilfield service and manufacturing companies for over 10 years.
Sam began his career as an investment banking analyst with Petrie Parkman, focused on oil & gas companies and has B.S.M.E and B.A. degrees from Rice University and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Ismael Cabrales, Corporate HSSE Manager
Ismael joined Select Energy Services in 2011 where he began as an HSSE Field Coordinator in the South Texas region. He went on to assist in bi-lingual safety training in other regions before transitioning as the HSSE Manager at Affirm Oilfield Services. In his current role, Ismael leads, plans, coordinates, and implements processes that promote Affirm’s commitment to zero accidents and injuries.
Ismael brings over 8 years of management experience. Prior to joining the Select and Affirm teams, Ismael worked 4 years for TRDI Inc. an Ability One government contractor as the Operations Manager and QC Inspector in the Rio Grande Valley.
Paul Penick, Corporate DOT Compliance Manager
Paul joined Peak Oilfield Services in 2014 where he began as a DOT Coordinator and assisted with HSE duties in the South Texas area. In February of 2017 he was hired as the DOT Compliance Manager for Affirm. In his current role, Paul ensures that Affirm is in compliance with the FMCSA Regulations. He develops, implements and manages key performance indicators to measure driver safety and compliance with Federal and State laws.
Prior to joining the Select and Affirm teams, Paul worked almost 8 years for the Longview Police Department, where he served as Police Officer in patrol, SWAT, Field Training Officer and other various positions. Paul has over 13 years of experience in Law Enforcement and Safety. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Business Minor from Stephen F. Austin University.
Eric Ashenbrenner, Corporate IT Manager
Eric began his career with Select Energy Services in 2011 as a Dispatch/GPS Manager for Select Tank Trucks. His career with Select has lead him through IT Field Support, IT Project Management and finally to Affirm Oilfield Services as IT Department Manager. In his current role, Eric manages all aspects of the IT department including Helpdesk, Networking and software and hardware all while working with Operations to find innovative solutions for day to day processes. He reviews Risk Management, Change Procedures and Policy and Procedure to keep up with the ever-changing needs of the oil and gas industry.
Lisa York, Corporate Human Resources Manager
Lisa has been a dedicated Human Resources professional since 2011. She started her career in HR at Select Energy Services and has had the opportunity to work and learn multiple sectors of Select Energy Services. In 2016, Lisa transferred from Select Energy to Affirm Oilfield Services.
Over the years, Lisa has implemented HR processes and policy development, benefits management, compliance, employee relations and performance management, HRIS implementation, recruitment, compensation and payroll processing. Lisa attended North Central Texas College studying Business and Business Management.
Terry Hester, Fleet Manger
Terry joined Select Energy Services in 2010 where he began as the Regional Fleet Manager for ETX/NLA. He was responsible for the Fleet and Asset Departments, overseeing Fleet maintenance and compliance of company fleet programs, as well as, working with the mechanics in each shop to assure procedures were followed, also confirming company policies were followed for proper asset management. In 2012 Terry was promoted to the Select Area Fleet Manager, responsible for ETX/NLA NTX/Ok Fleet and Asset procedures. In 2013, he served as Zone Fleet Manager and was responsible for ETX/NLA,NTX/OK and PA/WV Fleet maintenance. Terry joined the Affirm team in 2015 as the Fleet and Procurement Manager, working with managers at each location on all aspects of fleet management, maintenance, repairs, and rentals .
Terry also brings 10 years prior experience as the Area and Regional Fleet Manager for Flint Energy Services for NTX/LA and OK.
Mike James, Procurement & Asset Manger
Mike began his career with Select Energy Services in 2007, in Well Testing as a rig-up crew laborer and was shortly promoted to the Rig-up Supervisor for the North Texas Region. In January of 2010, Mike transitioned to the Select Fleet Department, as an Asset Coordinator. Duties included asset audits, maintaining registrations for vehicles and inspections of equipment. Mike joined the Affirm management team in 2014, as Corporate Asset Manager. In his current role, Mike oversees purchases of new equipment, identifying equipment for disposal, asset audits, giving support for equipment maintenance and proper asset branding.
Prior to joining Select and Affirm teams, Mike worked for Cooke County Sheriff’s Department for 11 years, where he served as a Corrections Officer and as a Patrol Deputy. Mike has 11 years of Law Enforcement and 11 years of various types of Oilfield experience. He graduated from North Texas Police Academy and Criminal Justice from North Central Texas College.
